The OIST​ Faculty and Staff Association was founded to:

  • Uphold academic freedom at OIST Graduate University https://www.oist.jp and to promote democratic principles in the management of OIST, in accordance with Japanese law.​

  • Improve working and economic terms and conditions for OIST employees.​

  • Engage in collective negotiations, based on the Association's principles and regulations.​

  • Promote the welfare and culture of members of the Association and their families.
